The definition of permission is the act of consent or formal permission.

Yesterday, for the first time in 3 years, I rode my horse without boundaries.

A few years ago, I took a fall and broke 6 ribs. The pain was excruciating as well as the toll it took on my emotions. My ability to not only trust myself or my horse became something that took on a life of its own.

The definition of boundaries is something that indicates or fixes a limit or cap.

I had been on my horse prior to this, yet I hadn’t really been riding. I was living within the limits and boundaries that my mind had put on both myself and my horse to keep us “safe”.

That meant walking in endless circles instead of exploring the territory and keeping us at a “manageable” pace. I equated safety with not going fast.

This took all the joy out of riding and it felt rigid and boring.

Yesterday I changed that by saying “I give both of us permission to ride today without boundaries and to have fun.”

Right after I said it, I felt a rush of relief and then confidence.

Zeus felt it too and it turned into the best and longest ride we had in a long time.

When you give yourself permission, you give yourself freedom.

I worked at jobs for many years that were never a fit for me. They were good jobs that sounded great - on the outside. A decent wage, a solid company with benefits, yet my heart always said “You are not going to be happy here for long. This is not in alignment with who you truly are”.

I did what so many of you reading this are doing right now.

I shut my heart down and my gifts off.

I decided to go WITH the grain and please everyone around me.

Everyone that is, except myself.

My parents were happy. My husband was happy.

I was dying inside every day I walked thru those doors.

Eventually it showed up in my work as I became bored quickly and was laid off.

When you engage in self-sabotage, it usually comes from the subconscious mind which professionally can look like you are bored, not interested in what you’re doing or falling behind in your work.

You know that your current place of employment, no matter how cushy the environment is or how much money you make, is not a fit for you.

When you start to think about what will ultimately make you happy, this is the point where you begin to realize something vitally important about your journey:

If you are not where you want to be professionally, personally, physically or spiritually, consider asking yourself these questions:

· Where have I held myself back or created boundaries to live in, that have become a prison I couldn’t get out of?

· What behaviors, patterns or thought beliefs do I have that are not working for me and are they my thoughts or someone else’s?

· What could I do to change this negative behavior or thought pattern so that it would work FOR me or eliminate it completely and put a new positive pattern or behavior in place of it?

We should always be changing into exactly who and what we were meant to be, yet so many of us hold ourselves back, wanting to fit in with what society or those around us expect us to be.

FACT: When you give yourself permission to:

Accept who you are and use your gifts,

Switch careers to one that is perfectly suited to you,

Step up your spirituality practice,

Take care of yourself physically or,

Fall back in love with or find your partner,

You are up leveling your life.

You may have all the tools in the world.

You may have gone to the best school and knew exactly what you wanted to do professionally, yet you aren’t working in that profession.

You may have been with your spouse since high school and still love each other, yet you aren’t IN love.

You may know many different ways to get into the best shape of your life, yet you don’t have ‘time’ to make it happen.

You may have put a spiritual practice in place, yet you are just going through the motions and not feeling any closer to spirit then when you started.

The bottom line is this:

You Are the Only One Who Can Give Yourself Permission to Change Your Life into What You Want It to Truly Look Like!

There is no one but you, who can make the decision to change gears and use your gifts to help others.

There is no one but you, who can up level your spiritual consciousness in a way that you have not experienced before.

There is no one but you, who can work in your specific profession or become self-employed and offer up your unique gifts to help all.

There is no one but you, who can fall back in love with your current spouse or have the courage to walk away from a partnership you have outgrown emotionally.

If You Want to Achieve Greatness, Stop Asking for Permission

When you give yourself permission to explore who you are and why you are here, you now have a green light to move forward with what you TRULY want to do, instead of what you ‘should’ do.

Let’s face it, life is not a dress rehearsal.

You get one chance to live your life and you should live it exactly as you would like to experience it.

The reason you may have been holding yourself back has a lot to do with permissions from not only yourself, but other people that you trust, idolize and have been guiding you all your life. Your parents, your grandparents and your spouse, all have direct input into what you ‘should’ be doing professionally and personally.

We are taught from a young age what a ‘good job’ looks like. One that is steady, has a good income and is with a strong company as well as the ability to move up the ladder with the potential to get that corner office with time.

Did you notice the above makes no mention of personal happiness?

This can lead us to doing what we ‘should’ do vs what we ‘want’ to do.

This above all: To Thine Own Self Be True, and It Must Follow, As the Night the Day. Thou Canst Not Then Be False to Any Man.

--William Shakespeare

The basic question is:

What will make you happy? and

What is holding you back from giving yourself permission to make changes that will offer you the life you truly want?

Many people I speak to are scared. Scared to make changes as it may take too long to get to the financial level they are at now.

Scared to use their gifts, as they may not feel comfortable understanding the great benefits and power their gifts have.

Most of all, they are scared they won’t be accepted.

You may hate your current job, but you know you are accepted where you work.

I would submit to you for your consideration that you have one life.

You may be focusing on the negatives that all these changes would affect. Let’s take a look at some of the positive things that could happen if you gave yourself permission to stand out for who you are.

You could be very successful and have much more abundance financially than you have now.

You could attract the right people and opportunities into your life that could show up with you going to places you have only dreamed of.

You could reach a level of spiritual consciousness you have never dared to get close to, which would bring you enlightenment and happiness.

Your new found enlightenment could be something you would teach others to achieve, thus using your gifts effortlessly.

In short, when you give yourself permission to change, you are able to use your gifts easily and new opportunities will flow into your life. Nothing will be as hard as it is when you don’t use or be all of who you are.

Every experience you have had, be it positive or negative, has been your soul’s path to follow. Yet you have free will.

Only you can make changes to your life.

Please don’t do what I did and waste years of your life professionally or personally unhappy. I knew there was so much more I was here to do – I just didn’t know how.

And I was scared.

And the news that I wasn’t going to stay in the corporate world was not always well received.

On the other side of the fence, I still have challenges and I am able to overcome them.

When I have a session where I was able to help someone break free of all her excuses and finally help her see how truly amazing she is – it’s worth all the frustration and doubt I went through to get to this point.

Be courageous! – Step out and take your life back! You may be surprised to see that the world will meet you right where you are.
